Death toll continues to rise: As of this morning it stands at over 170 people. Watching all of this and I can't help but cry!! You can donate to the Red Cross to help those in need.
SPC: 141 reported tornadoes Wednesday (remember these have to be confirmed so the number may go down some).
Reports of more than 400,000 without power in Alabama.
More video coming out of the tornado that hit Tuscaloosa, AL Wednesday evening. The Weather Channel is reporting that 70 people, or more, have lost their lives with the storms that moved through Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. At least 58 of those have come from Alabama.
Tornado aftermath in Tuscaloosa: ABC 33/40
Tornado that went through Birmingham, AL
Looks like the death toll is now close to 250, and it could continue to rise. This is so sad. It's always easy to think that it can't happen in your community, or that you would be prepared, but preparedness doesn't happen by accident. Communities all across the country need to look at their disaster safety plans and test them out. Families too need to have a plan and a safe place to take shelter during a storm. Stay safe this season everyone.
