I'll be the first to admit I was a little 'off' with the high temperatures Tuesday! Full sunshine and a strong southerly wind warmed highs yesterday afternoon into the middle 60s across much of the area while the low 70s were found along I-88! We won't see as much sunshine today as we've got mostly cloudy skies this morning. Temperatures, though, are starting off in the low 50s so despite the cloud cover we should be able to reach the low 60s.
Winds will remain gusty from the south/southwest today and a Wind Advisory is in effect for DeKalb and McHenry counties and points east through 6pm. Already this morning wind gusts have reached 30-35mph. Showers will move in this evening and last through the overnight. A rumble of thunder may also be heard overnight as the front passes. Rain totals could range between a quarter inch to half an inch by Thursday morning.
