AT 740 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A STRONG THUNDERSTORM NEAR ELBURN...MOVING NORTHWEST AT 25 MPH. UP TO NICKEL SIZE HAIL...WINDS GREATER THAN 40 MPH...BRIEF HEAVY DOWNPOURS...AND FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM.
LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... ELBURN... MAPLE PARK... ILLINOIS HIGHWAY 64 EAST OF SYCAMORE.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... GUSTY WINDS MAY CAUSE SMALL OBJECTS SUCH AS TRASH BINS TO BLOW AROUND. HEAVY RAINFALL CAN LEAD TO FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS SUCH AS DITCHES...VIADUCTS...UNDERPASSES...CREEKS AND DRAINAGE AREAS. SEEK SHELTER IN A STURDY STRUCTURE UNTIL THIS STORM HAS PASSED.
