You've probably heard of the phrase, "Once in a blue moon". It means something that rarely happens. Not only will Tuesday night's Blue Moon be rare, but it's probably not the kind of Blue Moon you're used to hearing about.
First things first, the moon will not actually be blue... sorry! The term is normally used to refer to the second full moon in a calendar month (We usually only see one). But in this case, Tuesday night's full moon will be the third of four we'll see this summer (We usually only see three full moons in a season). The last time we saw this kind of Blue Moon was about three years ago.
