RPM Model Forecast |
The coldest air of the season is invading the Stateline Saturday night into Sunday morning with temps expecting to bottom out in the single digits. This will be the coldest air we've experienced since March 3, or in 266 days. But that's just half the battle, factor in a persistent breeze out of the WNW at 10-20mph, and we'll experience below zero wind chills! Here's what Sunday morning will feel-like when heading out to church according to our in-house RPM model.
And historically, this is unusually cold for this time of year. Cold front after cold front have pounded the Midwest causing vigorous high pressure systems to set up ushering in Arctic Air. This is even colder than a typical day in January, let alone November! Officially at Rockford International Airport for the last five years, there hasn't been a November temperature reading colder than what we'll experience come sunrise on Sunday. - MT
