Temperatures will be a few degrees warmer than what they were Thursday with highs in the middle 40's. Clouds will increase late morning and through the afternoon ahead of low pressure that will quickly move through the upper Midwest. Temperatures tonight won't be nearly as cold thanks to strong southwest winds and expected cloud cover. We'll wake up to temperatures near 40° Saturday morning.

Heavy frost reported Friday morning
Temperatures this morning have dropped into the low to middle 20's under clear overnight skies. This has allowed thick, heavy frost to develop in many locations this morning. In fact, our weather watcher Carol Schneider in Rochelle reported: 'Heavy frost...so heavy the salt trucks were out around 5:30'ish'.

You may also notice a little haze early this morning as moisture a few thousand feet above the surface increases.
