Average high temps in the Stateline usually push into the upper 30s this time of year, but conditions like that won't be experienced for the next couple weeks. In fact, temps swing downward as we head towards the end of February. Lows will actually dip below zero once again this week. A dip in the jet stream over the Midwest and persistent flow out of the northwest will continue to usher in unseasonably cold air.
The Climate Prediction Center also expects the first half of March to be unseasonably cool with the core of cold air centered right over the upper Midwest. The darker the blue indicates the greater confidence that we'll get colder than average temps. - MT
