It's official: The Stateline has been ridiculously cold this winter. But here's some context to show you just how cold it's been the past two months.
The average temp for Rockford through the first two months of meteorological winter (December and January) has been a chilly 15.7°. That makes this winter the 6th coldest on record so far, but that's not all. The average temp for Minneapolis, Minnesota through the first two months of winter is 17.7°. That's right... we've been colder than a normal Minnesota winter!
Is there any relief from the cold in the forecast? The short answer is no. The warmest we're expected to get over the coming week is the 20s. We're also looking for at least 2-3 more nights with lows below zero during that time. -BA
