When will we see snow? |
Yes, if it's not the insane cold we're dealing with, it's the snow. Starting late Monday night into Tuesday morning, our next round of snow will edge its way into the area. The only good news is that it looks like our snow amounts will be minimal--a dusting to a half inch area wide. That minor upper-level disturbance will edge out of here by mid morning Tuesday and most of the day will be dry. Tuesday night, however we usher in our next clipper system that will bring a couple inches of snow.
As for the cold, well here's a fun one: Looking back at Rockford's high temps since the beginning of February, it's clear: there's a reason we got the title of "3rd coldest meteorological winter" on record. We've only had 3 days at or above average high temps--the rest of the time, we've been below average. And we'll continue to stay below average through at least Sunday. - MT
