After Monday's bitter cold temperatures will moderate a bit this week, but with the jet stream winds right overhead this could create a bit of an unsettled weather pattern.
Several low pressure systems will move from west to east across the U.S. bringing with them a little snowfall across the Plains and Midwest. The first wave is set to move from the Dakotas into Wisconsin late Monday night with a dusting of snow expected by Tuesday morning. The second, and stronger wave, will move through Tuesday evening. This one may have a little more snowfall with it by Wednesday morning adding up to a couple inches.
On the brighter side, these systems will be originating more from the Pacific Northwest versus the Arctic so the cold blast that we've typically felt after snow won't occur this week. Temperatures are expected to get back into the 20's and 30's by the end of the work week.
