Severe Spotter Training classes coming up

I know it's hard to think that we're entering into severe weather season with over five inches of snow still on the ground, but it's that time!

This week is Severe Weather Preparedness week in Illinois and now is the time to make sure your home and office have a severe weather plan in place should severe weather threaten.  Click here for more information on severe storm and tornado safety, climatology of tornadoes in Illinois and when tornadoes typically occur in Illinois.

To go along with Severe Weather Preparedness week, local National Weather Service offices will be conducting Severe Storm Spotter training classes throughout Illinois and Wisconsin.  The first one will be tonight in Dixon.  That class will begin at 6:30pm at Sauk Valley Community College, Room 1004.

Southern Wisconsin (Green, Rock and Walworth)
North-Central Illinois (Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Ogle, Lee and DeKalb counties)
