Big Changes This Coming Week

The warm fall weather... It's not quite over yet. Rockford officially had it's 5th day in a row above 80 degrees.  That's pretty amazing for early October, and is the average high for the 22nd of August.  Columbus Day will not be quite as warm, but still quite exceptional with sunshine, and a high in the upper 70's.  High pressure is beginning to lose it's hold on the upper mid west with a trough of low pressure moving into the plains.  There is a slight chance of showers, but it will still be very mild with highs in the middle 70's on Tuesday.  Chances of rain will increase on Tuesday night, and there will be a good chance of showers, and maybe even some thunderstorms on Wednesday, and Wednesday night, as a moisture channel from the gulf of Mexico moves in ahead of a cold front pushing across the plains. The front will move across the area on Thursday dropping afternoon temperatures into the middle 60s, along with a good chance of some lingering showers under mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will drop into the 40s on Thursday night, and a slight chance of showers will persist into Friday.  Friday and Saturday will be cool days with highs only in the upper 50's.  So, you can see there will be some big changes in the weather coming up this week.
