A Cooling Trend This Week

Increasing clouds kept the temperature from reaching 80 degrees this afternoon. So, we have to settle for the five 80 plus days in a row just past. It may not reach 80 again until next spring, although it will be close tomorrow. It will be partly cloudy tonight with a low in the middle 50's. Tuesday will be partly cloudy. It will still be warm with a high around 76 degrees. There could be some light rain showers in the morning, and possibly an isolated thunderstorm in the afternoon. On Tuesday night it will continue mild under mostly cloudy skies which may produce some light rain showers. On Wednesday is will be warm again with a high in the low 70's. It will be mostly cloudy with a system approaching from the west that will be tapping some gulf moisture, showers will be likely, and there will be a chance of thunderstorms, too, mainly in the later afternoon and on Wednesday night. There could be some fairly decent rainfall amounts between one half and three quarters of an inch. The system will be east of the area by Thursday morning, and cooler air will spread into the Stateline with high temperatures only reaching the middle 60's. Low pressure will intensify and consolidate near S.S. Marie Michigan later Thursday night into Friday morning. Because of the tight pressure gradient, it will be quite windy on Friday with winds gusting over 30 mph from the northwest.   It will be much cooler with a high only in the upper 50's. The low will move to James Bay Canada by 6 am on Saturday, and high pressure ridging across Minnesota, Iowa, and Missouri will take full control of our weather during the day. The winds will settle down, it will be sunny, and the temperature will rise back into the low 60's. On Sunday the next front will approach from the northwest. It will be warmer... into the middle 60's, but there will be a chance of showers.
