Cool Down then Warm Up

The last several days, a shortwave trough brought active weather and lots of rainfall.
Jet stream set up early week
The next several days look to be dry and mild. Later though, the jet stream will lift far north into Canada allowing for heat to slowly build and by this weekend looks to push temps near or above 90°.  Usually we see storms fire along the jet stream in a classic, summery "ring of fire" set up, but since the jet stream will be so far north, we will only be seeing the heat and humidity and have a very limited threat for storms.  This pattern looks to persist for a while...Stay tuned to the First Warn Weather team for more updates on this potentially very hot outbreak. - MT
