Shattered! One for the record books this morning

It was a 'cold in your bones' type cold this morning!  Clear skies, light to nearly calm wind and a deep snow pack made for the perfect conditions for temperatures to really tumble this morning.  And that they did!  At the Chicago Rockford International Airport the temperature dropped to -21° shattering the old daily record low of -12° set back in 1981!  Quite impressive! 

Lows will briefly drop below zero tonight before rising by dawn Wednesday.  Looking ahead, it looks like we're done with these subzero nights - at least for a little while.
