Severe Weather Ramps up in the South Monday

Numerous Tornado Warnings, some with confirmed tornadoes, have been issued for thunderstorms in northern Alabama, south of Huntsville, as well as for counties along the Alabama/Tennessee border north of Huntsville.  Severe thunderstorms will continue for the next several hours, moving through Alabama and parts of Tennessee before weakening as they move further into Georgia and the Mid-Atlantic Monday night.

These thunderstorms are all part of a bigger
storm system currently moving through southern Illinois.  This storm system will move into Indiana and southern Ohio Tuesday and Tuesday evening before moving up the East Coast, becoming the fourth Nor'easter in just about two weeks.  Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Watches have already been issued for parts of Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia as well as for many other states in the Northeast.  Strong winds, heavy snow and rain will impact areas that have already dealt with significant snowfall over the past couple of weeks.
