First Measurable Snow Of The Season

We saw our first measurable snow of the season this morning. The first snow of the season was back on October 20th, when we saw a trace of snow. Here in Rockford, we saw 1.6" of snow this morning. The last measurable snow was back on April 18th of 1 inch.

Much of the area picked up at least 1 inch of snow, while Roscoe and De Kalb came close to 2 inches of snow.

Many of the bridges and secondary roads were snow covered, so it's important to brush up on your winter driving skills.

Here is a time-lapse of satellite and radar as the snow moved into the area late Thursday night and into the Friday morning commute.
