5:25PM UPDATE: Storms have become a bit more scattered but remain on a weakening trend. Across the area, isolated storms may pose a risk for brief downpours, gusty winds, and some lightning over the next couple hours. General motion of the storms is SE at 15-20 mph.
As of 4:30PM, a strong thunderstorm is tracking into Green County in Southern Wisconsin, moving at 15 mph to the Southeast. This storm is not severe but may be capable of producing 40 mph wind gusts and half inch sized hail, along with cloud to ground lightning.
This storm continues to track Southeast into a less favorable environment for storms but may hold some degree of its strength as it approaches the IL/WI state line by 5:15PM if the storm maintains its speed. I am not anticipating severe weather with this storm at this time.
Additional thunderstorms may arrive later this evening (after 8PM) along a cold front, slightly higher in coverage than the single isolated storm during the early evening. These storms are also unlikely to produce severe weather but may pose a risk for brief downpours and lightning. More widespread showers arrive overnight into Sunday morning, but storm threat looks low with those as of now.
