The dry and warming trend continued for another day as temperatures warmed into the upper 70s and low 80s area wide. Just like in days past the sunshine has been filtered out by the smoke aloft, and this has had a little impact on our temperatures Tuesday afternoon. And while we may see that trend continue through the week, afternoon highs will still warm into the middle and upper 80s.
There are a few sprinkles and light showers passing through southwest Wisconsin Tuesday evening as a weak upper-level disturbance moves into Wisconsin. With limited moisture around the showers won't amount to much, and skies will most likely turn partly to mostly cloudy for a time during the late afternoon and evening.
The cloud cover should pass after Midnight leaving us with clear skies once again for Wednesday afternoon. The wildfire smoke in the atmosphere will ebb and flow the next few days, meaning it'll be thick some days and then thin out other days but remain with us through at least Thursday and Friday. Cloud cover will thicken up through the end of the week and weekend as the remnants of soon-to-be Francine move into the Tennessee Valley.
