As expected, these passed through non-severe, though brought scattered heavy downpours to certain locales. Storm chances will be highest east of interstate 39 during the morning commute hours.
From there, we can expect conditions to rapidly dry out, allowing sunshine to make a quick return for the afternoon. With a weak cold front coming through, winds this afternoon will be more out of the west-northwest, bringing afternoon highs down a few degrees. Expect most to round out the work week in the mid 80s.
Saturday, winds will shift back to the south, allowing afternoon highs to jump back into the upper 80s. This will be a quicker warm up as we can expect plenty of sun from start to finish. All in all, this will be the last day of summer feel like summer.
Temperatures fall and rain increase into Sunday as a stronger cold front slides through the region. Similar to this morning's rainfall, we won't have to worry about severe weather potential.
However, a few downpours will be likely, especially Sunday evening into Monday as the low slides in from the Midwest. Totals may range from .5" to 1.5" which will help with our monthly rainfall deficit. Prior to this morning's rainfall, our deficit was sitting just short of 2.5" below average. Temperatures take a big hit, landing closer to average starting Thursday. Expect highs to peak in the low 70s. This cooler weather comes just in time for the seasonal change to fall which begins Sunday at 7:43AM.
