We've had a few chilly nights recently, and tonight will not be any different. High pressure anchored across the upper Great Lakes will allow winds to ease just a touch, but under mainly clear skies temperatures tonight will drop into the low 40's.
The record low for Rockford is 41 degrees, set back in 2003. The forecast calls for lows dropping to 44 degrees by Tuesday morning. This will hopefully be the last chilly night as temperatures the rest of the week will warm as winds shift around to the south.
