For events that begin tomorrow, Thursday, it looks like most of the day will remain dry. There could be a couple isolated showers that develop late Wednesday night and move through by daybreak Thursday, but then we should dry out for the afternoon with only a small chance of a thunderstorm popping up. By Thursday night, a storm complex that will likely develop out west in the Plains will move east along a cold front. So, by Friday morning there's a greater chance for showers and thunderstorms. But then again, we could dry out for the afternoon. Then, by Friday night an upper level disturbance moves through Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. This will keep showers and thunderstorms in the forecast for early Saturday, but as high pressure builds across the Great Lakes during the day, skies may actually dry out with temperatures warming into the low 70's.
Sunday could end up being the day to watch as the cold front pulls back north as a warm front early in the day. This will cause thunderstorms to form and move through, some of which could start as early as the morning. Most of the activity will be done by Sunday night.
So, as you're out and about this weekend, just make sure you keep a watchful eye to the sky and have a backup plan should rain move in.
