We had a bit of a cooler pattern set up last week with high temperatures staying in the 70's, and this weekend we finally broke into the 80's. Monday will be another 80 degree, more like upper 80's, afternoon, but the humidity will climb as well.
As south winds increase during the day, dew points will rise through the middle and upper 60's causing the humidity to go up as well. If clouds from any overnight storms can hold off, the heat index could climb past 90 degrees during the afternoon ahead of thunderstorms that are forecast to move in by Monday evening and overnight. After that, surface winds shift around to the northeast with high pressure bringing temperatures, and humidity, back down to a comfortable level. But, that looks short-lived as we could turn the heat and humidity right back up by the end of the week and into next weekend.
