We lucked out with the holiday weekend with skies staying dry, ant temperatures warming up. This morning that is changing with showers and storms moving through our western counties. Jo Daviess, Carroll, northern Whiteside, and far western portions of Stephenson county. Quite a bit of lightning in northern Whiteside and southern Carroll counties. This is forming ahead of a cold front that is currently in western Iowa. More moisture is now being focused into the western portion of the Stateline as well as combining with a mid level disturbance. Not too concerned with a severe potential this morning because we have quite a bit of warm air in the upper levels of the atmosphere, and not quite enough instability in the atmosphere.
Strong storms still possible in the late afternoon and early evening.
