A line of showers and thunderstorms have developed over Northern Wisconsin ahead of a cold front that will move through tonight. Severe weather is not expected, but a clap of thunder or two is possible.
The front will quickly pass during the overnight, but a much cooler air mass follows Wednesday. Highs Tuesday reached the upper 60's but highs Wednesday may not even get out of the upper 50's. Combine that with a brisk Northwest wind and it won't feel the greatest during the afternoon. There will be a little sunshine here and there and this could help build some instability leading to scattered showers during the afternoon.
As quick as the chill arrives, it is also quick to leave. Extreme warmth expands across the northern tier of the country with 80 degree temperatures near the Canadian border. That warmth spreads east by Friday, but is cut short by another cold front Saturday afternoon.
