A Warm Saturday but Cooling Off After

A beautiful shot from our Mercyhealth Skycam showcasing the wonderful weather we had to end the work week.  We hit the mid 70's this afternoon, and we'll stay fairly warm as we head into the evening in the low 70's alongside clearing skies.  Thus, we'll get a beautiful sunset!  Temperatures do stay warm heading into the weekend, but there is some cooler weather on the way as well.

As we head into the night we'll see our skies gradually clearing.  This will cool us off quickly, hitting the low 60's by around 9pm, before hitting the low 50's during the overnight tonight.  This high pressure ridge extending from the southern plains to our area will keep our skies clear and winds calm tonight, which is why we'll be on the cooler side.

The ridge will stay active as we head into Saturday, keeping our skies clear Saturday afternoon, allowing us to catch a nice sunrise in the morning.  The sunshine will warm us up quickly heading through Saturday morning, hitting the upper 60's around 10am, and the low 70's by mid-day.  We'll hit the low 80's during the afternoon, before more clouds start to move in once we head into the late-night hours.

These clouds will be forming ahead of this cold front, which will make its way into the Stateline during the overnight Saturday night.  The front won't be very strong, but we can still expect a few showers early Sunday morning, before the front moves out by mid-day Sunday.  A decent amount of cold air moves in behind the front, bringing us into the mid 60's Sunday afternoon.

Another high pressure system behind the front will keep the cooler air pushing through our area through Sunday night into Monday, bringing us a colder start Monday morning in the low 40's.  However, afterwards we'll gradually see our temperatures warm back up as this high tracks east, allowing warmer air to return back to our area.
