If you'll be out and about through out the day today, you'll encounter difficult driving conditions at times. Winds this morning have been howling out of the west southwest, but are now turning to the west northwest as a cool front passes through. We've had wind gusts clocking in around 40mph from Rockford, to Monroe, Freeport, and Rochelle this morning. This makes north and south driving difficult through the afternoon as low pressure drifts to Michigan.
Winds remain gusty through the afternoon, but they ease tonight and Saturday.
