The rain that came down Wednesday morning and afternoon was heavy, producing anywhere between 1-3 inches in northern Illinois. There were several reports of flooding near Chicago during the afternoon and early evening.
An isolated shower/storm is still possible overnight but the majority of the night will remain dry. Temperatures Wednesday warmed into the upper 70's and low 80's but will only fall into the upper 60's overnight.
A little more dry air moves in by Thursday morning but dew point temperatures are expected to remain in the mid 60's during the afternoon. This will keep a slight humid feel to the air with highs Thursday reaching the upper 80's.
