Rainfall Gradually Comes to an End Sunday Night

The steady rain from Sunday has become more scattered as low pressure lifts near La Crosse, WI and a cold front approaches from the west.  Lightly scattered showers will continue through roughly Midnight, with cloud cover sticking around into Monday morning.

Temperatures were in the 40's through much of the afternoon, but did briefly warm into the low 50's once the heavy rain shifted east and northeast.  The highest rainfall totals occurred near the Mississippi River and over Iowa where reports of totals near an inch were received.  Closer to home rainfall totals were right around a quarter of an inch.

A brief break from the rain will take place early Monday, but showers with another low pressure system are set to move in by the afternoon and evening.  This second round of rain will also bring roughly a quarter of an inch, to half an inch, of rain to northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.  Most of the rain will be done by Tuesday morning, with temperatures tumbling towards the end of the week and weekend.
