Cloudy skies stuck around with us through the morning and that is the reason behind the warmer start. If you recall, we began the day yesterday with temperatures in the upper 40-low 50s.
Increasing clouds overnight held temperatures in the 60’s this morning, so it wasn't one of those "light jacket" type mornings. In fact, rain gear can also be left at home because many dry hours are in store for our Friday.
A cold front that was moisture starved slide through the region this morning. Behind this cold front, winds have become northwesterly. Sustained winds at the moment are between 10-15 mph. As the day progresses, winds will continue to intensify. Gusts to 25 mph are certainly possible through the
late-morning into the afternoon. The good news is, cloudy skies gradually give way to an increasing amount of sunshine
by later this afternoon.
We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds through the
rest of the day, with highs in the middle 70’s. Regardless, a pleasantly warm
afternoon will give way to a cool evening. If you’re making plans to head to
Friday Night Football, the game of the week is Stillman Valley vs Byron, weather
will remain dry and temperatures will be pleasant Temperatures at kickoff will be in the low 70s, then slowly cool into the 60’s by halftime. There may still be a lingering breeze, but it's going to be a fabulous evening for outdoor plans.
Much of Saturday
will remain dry, with highs in the middle 70’s widespread. We will start out with some sunshine, but clouds will
be on the increase by late in the day. And there is a chance we could see a few spotty showers overnight Saturday into Sunday. The weekend will not at all be a
washout, but Sunday does feature the highest rain chances and coolest
temperatures. Highs likely in the 60’s.
