Many across the Stateline have received an incredible amount of rainfall
this past week, adding up to nearly 7-9 inches of rain for some! The
latest round of heavy rain came down late Saturday night and Sunday
morning, prompting Flash Flood Watches and Warnings once again.
After the first two rounds of rain, rivers were quick to rise across
much of northern Illinois, pushing the rivers into minor and moderate
flood stage, flooding low lying areas. Flood Warnings and Advisories
remain in place for the Pecatonica, Rock and Kishwaukee Rivers, some
through the end of the week.
There is some good news, however. High pressure building overhead for
the start of the week will keep skies mostly dry, but muggy. The next
chance for rain looks to return towards the middle of the week, possibly
as early as Wednesday evening/night.
