Hurricane Dorian continues to bring heavy rain, strong winds and a
dangerous storm surge along the southeast coast Wednesday evening. A
Category 2 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 110 mph, the storm
is currently moving to the north/northwest around 8mph.
According to the National Hurricane Center, Dorian has become a little
better organized with a little more distinct eye and eyewall
becoming more symmetric. Tropical storm force conditions are affecting
portions of the Georgia and South Carolina coast this evening. Dorian
is expected to re-curve back north and northeast within the next day to
day and a half. This would bring the center of Dorian near the coast of
South Carolina Thursday and possible near of over the North Carolina
coast within the next day to day and a half.
By the end of the week and weekend Dorian is expected to quickly make a turn to the northeast, moving into the North Atlantic.
