Thursday Evening Storm Update

12:45am Update: A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for parts of Ogle, DeKalb, Winnebago, McHenry and Boone counties until 6:45am Friday morning.

12:30am Update: Severe Thunderstorm Warning canceled for Ogle County, but continues for Lee and DeKalb counties until 1am.  The Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been canceled for Stephenson, Jo Daviess, Carroll and Whiteside counties.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for southern Ogle County and Lee County until 12:15am, and a new Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for eastern Lee and Ogle counties and for DeKalb County until 1am.  The severe storms were located along a line from near Kirkland to Ashton, moving to the east at 45 mph.  Wind gusts to 60 mph will be possible.

A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for Green and Rock counties in S. WI and for northeast Jo Daviess and northwest Stephenson counties in Illinois.  Heavy rainfall and possibly training thunderstorms could lead to localized flashed flooding through early Friday morning.

A warm front stretches from northern Illinois down south of Chicago.  North of the front the air mass is a little more stable.  South of the front enough energy remains in the atmosphere for strong to possibly severe storms.  A line of storms have formed from near Monroe down through Sterling.  This line could be capable of producing strong wind gusts as it moves to the east.
