Chilly pattern, but not a lot of snow

From the east coast down to the southwest, a stalled frontal boundary will bring a mess of weather across the United States.  Heavy rainfall will continue from eastern Texas up through Ohio and into the northeast where numerous flood watches and warnings have been issued.  On the colder side snow, some of it heavy, continues to fall through parts of Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico.  In fact, Winter Storm Warnings have been issued for almost all of New Mexico where several inches of snow are possible.

The jet stream pattern over the next several days will keep the cold air in place over much of the U.S. as high pressure at the surface keeps northwest flow across the Midwest.  Temperatures today will likely be the 'warmest' out of the next seven with highs by Friday afternoon struggling to make it out of the middle 20s.  Chances for snow look pretty low for the next week or so.  There is a weak disturbance that will move out of Wisconsin later this morning and that may be enough to generate a few sprinkles or flurries.  Another cold front coming in Wednesday night will provide another chance for a few light snow showers but little accumulations are expected.
