Record Cold in the Southwest

Temperatures across the Stateline have been exceptionally mild this December. So far, we're averaging a whopping 6.5 degrees above normal this month with just 0.1" of snow. In the meantime, residents of the desert Southwest are experiencing record cold! El Paso, TX set a record low of 18 this morning, while Albuquerque, NM dropped to 9 degrees -- also a record low. The northeast side of El Paso recorded up to 2" of snow on Monday morning, while the Albuquerque Airport has seen over an inch of snow so far this month.

Although the Stateline will get a shot of cold air toward the end of the week with highs in the 20s and lows in the 10s to single digits, the cold air won't last long and the mild pattern will return for us.
