5:40pm:  Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southern DeKalb County until 6pm.  This storm was located near Leland, and moving northeast at 45 mph.  The strongest part of the storm will pass south of DeKalb and Sycamore.  Wind gusts to 60 mph are possible.  Remain indoors and away from windows.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for Winnebago, Ogle, Lee, DeKalb, Boone and McHenry counties until late tonight.

A Flash Flood Warning continues for Carroll, Whiteside, Ogle, Lee and DeKalb counties until 10:30pm.

Rainfall amounts just over the past 24 hours have added up to one inch almost area wide, with nearly three inches of rain reported in Savanna, IL!  Storms from earlier this morning produced 0.75" to 2.50", with flooding taking place in many locations.  As we've soaked up the rain over the past week, our ground is just simply too saturated.  And any rain that falls on top of the saturated ground will just run off and flood.  Already, flash flooding is taking place in many of the communities south of Rockford.
"Turn Around, Don't Drown"  NEVER drive through a flooded roadway as you have no way of telling how deep the flood waters are.
