Storms Monday to produce small hail

 

5:30pm Update: Radars are quiet now, but a few storms in southern Wisconsin could slide south through sunset.









The risk for marginal hail and a few stronger wind gusts will continue through the evening.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Lee and DeKalb counties until 4:30pm.  Wind gusts up to 60 mph, along with quarter sized hail will be possible.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Stephenson County until 4:15pm.  The storm located near Pearl City will be capable of producing quarter sized hail.  It's moving southeast at 30mph.

(2:58:46 PM) nwsbot: Local Storm Report by NWS LOT: Davis Junction [Ogle Co, IL] trained spotter reports HAIL of half inch size (E0.50 INCH) at 02:45 PM CDT -- highway 351 near davis junction.




With the heating of the day and colder temperatures several thousand feet above, thunderstorms have quickly developed this afternoon.  The risk for severe weather remains low, but pea up to quarter sized hail is possible as the storms shift southeast through suppertime.
