A Beautiful Sunday and The Heat Makes a Brief Return

We had another beautiful day in the Stateline and a great start to the weekend! Temperatures only reaching the upper 70's again across the area, but it felt great, especially with the cloudless skies and low humidity.  We keep these nice conditions the rest of the weekend, but there are a few rain chances moving in as we head into the work week.

We've now had 2 days in a row with 70° highs, something that we haven't seen in quite a while and something that doesn't happen all that often during the summer.  The last streak of 70° weather took place on June 11th and 12th, with 72° and 79° highs.

By this point, we usually see 16 days with 70° highs in the summer, but we've only seen 10!  This goes to show how unusually warm this summer has been, seeing 6 days in the 90's and 12 days with dew points over 70°!

This high pressure system to the east will maintain the nice, comfortable weather for our area through Sunday.  Temperatures will be a little warmer in the low 80's, but that low humidity sticks around with the sunny skies.

Once we get into Sunday night, that high will track out and weak high will form in the deep south.  This will start pushing warm, muggy air back into our area, bringing temperatures into the upper 80's for Monday, with muggy dew points as well.

Once we get to Monday night, a cold front will track down from the north extending from a low pressure system off to the northeast.  This, along with the warm and muggy conditions, will allow for a few thunderstorms late Monday evening, but they're not expected to be severe.

The muggy weather lasts through Tuesday, but another high will form behind the front which will bring us more comfortable conditions again heading into Wednesday.  Thursday and Friday have slight chances for rain as a couple shortwave troughs will move through the area, with some thunderstorms possible heading into next weekend.
