Warm and Muggy Holiday Evening and Some Storms

Hopefully many of you are heading downtown to celebrate our nation's 242nd birthday! However, make sure you're wearing light-colored clothing and staying hydrated because it's going to be pretty toasty this evening. Heat Indices will be in the 90's most of the evening, hence the Heat Advisory that will be in effect until 8pm for the Stateline.

Temperatures are sitting in the mid to upper 80's right now, and they'll stay in the mid 80's for most of the evening.

However, in addition to the heat, dew points stay pretty high in the mid 70's for most of the evening, not changing much for the overnight, so it'll be a warm, muggy one tonight!

We've got some isolated thunderstorms across the Stateline due to the heat and humidity over our area allowing for unstable conditions.  However, any thunderstorm that does form WILL NOT be severe and won't last very long.  The isolated thunderstorms will continue through about 8pm, with chances dying down heading into the late-night hours.

We've got another line of thunderstorms to the west, which are expected to move in a little after 6pm. However, these will only impact the northwestern portion, mainly portions of Jo Daviess County and Green County. Like the other storms, these won't be severe.
