Heat Advisory Issued for Wednesday

"It's not the heat, it's the humidity".  That is a saying we've become pretty used to in the Midwest these past couple of weeks. With more heat and humidity in the forecast for Wednesday, a Heat Advisory will go into effect Wednesday, beginning at Noon and lasting through 7pm.

Temperatures Tuesday warmed quickly into the upper 80's, to near 90 degrees, but so did the dew point temperature.  From the mid 50's in the morning, to the low 70's in just a few hours.

Temperatures Wednesday won't get exceptionally hot, but the combination of the temperature and high dew point temperature will once again push the heat index into the low 100's.  While this doesn't necessarily fall within the criteria of issuing a Heat Advisory, the National Weather Service felt it was important to do so with it being a holiday and many folks spending time outside.  So if your holiday festivities take you outside for an extended amount of time, please remember to take it easy, drink plenty of water, wear light weight/light colored clothing, spend time in the shade or air conditioning and don't overdo it.

Overnight lows Wednesday will only fall into the mid 70's, helping push temperatures back up near 90 degrees on Thursday.  An incoming cold front will bring an end to the humidity by Thursday night, leaving us with a much more comfortable weekend.
