We didn't see record temperatures Monday, but the warmth was still something to enjoy. Rockford had an official high of 78°. The last time we saw this kind of heat this late in October was all the way back in 1971.
A cold front Monday night will start a cooldown that will last the rest of the week. Starting Tuesday and continuing through the rest of the week, temperatures are forecast to be below normal.
Halloween will be the coldest day of the forecast this week. Afternoon highs will only be in the mid 40s with Friday night lows in the upper 20s. If you're going to be out Trick or Treating, layer up and stay warm! -BA
