Rainy, Yet Warm Start to the Week

We had a gorgeous start to the weekend as temperatures climbed to the mid 40's this afternoon to accompany that great-feeling sunshine; nearly 10° above our average.  Warmth and moisture will keep filtering through our area tonight, but sadly this will drive the dense fog development across the Stateline.

Some areas down south, including Rochelle and Dekalb, have reported visibilities around 5 miles, and those visibilities will continue to drop as we go through the rest of the night.

Drizzle will move in around midnight to accompany the fog, both staying with us through the entire overnight.  However, by 6am, light rain showers will develop across the Stateline, and stay with us sadly through the entire day on Sunday, and it'll stay fairly foggy as well.

By the time we get into the overnight Sunday night, a cold front will move into our area, increasing instability and allowing for some heavier rain showers to develop across our area.  However, these will die back down to light rain showers by mid-day Monday, with light rain lingering into the afternoon.

However, once we get into the late hours of Monday evening, that low pressure system will draw in some colder air, which will allow for a light, wintry mix as temperatures will drop close to freezing.

By the time we reach Tuesday sunshine will return, but those temperature will drop back into the 30's for a few days.  However, those temperatures will return to the 40's by the end of the week, and we maintain the sunshine through the end of the work week.
