As the rain continues to move out of the viewing area, we can expect the winds to ramp up throughout the night tonight and into tomorrow. This is all due to three weather systems, one high pressure system and two low pressure systems, interacting with each other. As they pull closer and closer to each other, they will create what we call a tight pressure gradient in our atmosphere. And the tighter the pressure gradient is, the stronger the winds will end up.
Tonight, we can expect winds to blow out of the northwest at 10 to 20 mph with some winds gusting up to 30 mph. Currently, we are seeing some winds reaching double digits across the Stateline area. These winds will persist into tomorrow along with mostly cloudy skies and high's in the low 30's. Temperature look to become more December-like just in time for the Winter Solstice!
