4:50pm Update: A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the rest of northern Illinois until Midnight. Light freezing drizzle has caused untreated surfaces to become fairly slick Friday evening, with a few accidents reports. The freezing drizzle threat will last through roughly 8pm/9pm, but additional light snow will continue into the early overnight. Minor snow accumulations are likely, and this may keep untreated surfaces slick through Saturday
morning.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Carroll and Whiteside counties until 8pm Friday evening. Light freezing drizzle has been mixing in with some of the snow late this afternoon and is expected to continue into the evening. While accumulations are expected to remain light, minor ice accumulations are possible (thin glaze) on elevated and untreated surfaces. This could make travel a little slick through the evening.
