Left-over Showers Approaching the Stateline

A line of thunderstorms developed over central and eastern Iowa this afternoon along a cold front; and these storms dropped some small hail (pea-size or so) near Polk City and Littleton, Iowa. But because of the lower sun angle at this time of year, these storms were pretty short-lived and are falling apart quickly this evening. There are a few leftover showers just west of the Mississippi River right now, but with the drier air we have in place at ground level I think only a few sprinkles will be seen in the Stateline area overnight. This cold front will clear the area overnight, leaving us with more fall-like weather tomorrow afternoon.  --TS
