Wow...This is Strong!

Noon Update - Record Broken:
(11:58:49 AM) nwsgrb-wcm-jeff: Superior, WI (KSUW) sets new state record for lowest pressure at 28.38" -- Prev record was 28.45" at GRB on 4/3/1982. ...Jeff

The current storm system will more than likely go down in the record books and could potentially be the strongest we've seen in over 70 years!  Looking back at some of the most notable storms across the region, and if the current forecast stands correct, this storm will fall right behind the Great Ohio Blizzard back in 1978 where the minimum central pressure dropped to 28.05".  Right now, the lowest pressure I could find was at 28.38" reported in Duluth, MN.  This has actually broken the all time lowest pressure record in Minnesota!  Wow!  The low will continue to strengthen as it moves through northeast Minnesota and into northern Wisconsin by tonight.  Gusty winds, already getting reports of gusts over 50 mph, will continue through the rest of the afternoon!
