Dense fog this morning

Tuesday morning's rainfall...which added up to over an inch for many...clear skies and calm winds overnight has lead to some pretty dense fog in many spots this morning.  Visibility has dropped to about a quarter of a mile or less across northwest Illinois and near one mile every where else.  Please use extra caution when driving this morning.  Give yourself plenty of time to get where you need to go and leave plenty of distance between you and the car in front of you.  Also, since it's the first day of school for many please watch for children waiting at bus stops!

Visibility should begin to improve within the next hour or so.

  3. Yikes! Thanks for the heads up. We had some good soaking rain yesterday (in IN), but no t-storms. We had hail damage in our garden from a storm a couple weeks ago, so I would be fine if it just passed us up. Earlier this summer we had 2 trees down in our yard too. Mother nature....thanks, but no thanks! :)
