Flood Advisory

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED AN

* URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR MINOR FLOODING OF POOR DRAINAGE AREAS IN...NORTHEASTERN CARROLL COUNTY IN NORTHWEST ILLINOIS...
STEPHENSON COUNTY IN NORTHWEST ILLINOIS... THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF FREEPORT...

* UNTIL 1000 PM CDT

* AT 555 PM CDT A STRONG...SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORM WAS CAUSING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL TO AFFECT PORTIONS OF STEPHENSON COUNTY. THE THUNDERSTORM IS MOVING OUT OF THE AREA...BUT THE VERY RAPID RUNOFF IS CAUSING SOME LOCALIZED FLOODING OF AREA ROADS...CREEKS AND STREAMS.

WATER WAS REPORTED FLOWING ACROSS THE ROAD SEVERAL INCHES DEEP ON ROUTE 75 OR STEPHENSON STREET ON THE NORTHEAST SIDE OF TOWN.
WITH THE STORM MOVING OUT OF THE AREA...THIS LOCALIZED FLOODING SHOULD DIMINISH QUICKLY.
