Unsettled showery Weather on Saturday

Weather system is approaching the Stateline from Minnesota and Iowa this evening. Moisture from the Gulf has been drawn northward ahead of the front. A slow moving intense thunderstorm formed over northwestern Illinois late on Friday afternoon. It developed into a severe thunderstorm over Stephenson County with hail up to 0..9", heavy street flooding rains, and wind gusts at the Freeport airport to 61 mph. Further intensification occurred, rotation developed and a funnel cloud was sighted near German Valley, so a Tornado Warning was issued for southeastern Stephenson and north central Ogle county. The storm remained very strong as it edged eastward across northern Ogle county just south of the Winnebago county line and finally faded over northern DeKalb county around 8 pm. Showers and a few thunderstorms will be likely tonight. Showers will continue on Saturday, but be most likely in the afternoon. There could also be some isolated thunderstorms on Saturday. It will be cloudy all day and that will hold the temperatures in the middle 70's. The wind will switch to the northwest in the afternoon after frontal passage, but wrap-around showers will continue into Saturday night. Sunday will be partly cloudy with a comfortable northerly breeze 10 to 15 mph with some higher gusts. High pressure will take over on Sunday night, clearing skies, and dropping temperatures into the upper 50's. Monday and Tuesday will be a very nice days with lots of sunshine, comfortable humidity, and an afternoon temperature around 80 degrees. The next system will scatter some showers and thunderstorms back into the area from Tuesday night through Wednesday night along with seasonally warm (but not hot) temperatures.
