Chilly Labor Day

Low temperatures in many spots this morning were in the middle and upper 40s.  In Rockford we fell to 50°, although we may have reached 49° in between hours.  Now even though we'll see sunshine through the day highs are only expected to reach the upper 60s.  With such a cool start and end to the day, it could actually go down as one of the coldest Labor Days on record for Rockford.

  1. I really could use another week of warm weather for the sake of my garden!! (We planted very late). Is there a chance in the long range forecast that temps could again bounce into the upper 80s in the upcoming weeks?? I really hope so!

Looking at some of the ensemble forecast this morning and they really don't show a 'decent' warm up until around the 19th or 20th of September. Looks like we'll remain below average this week with a slight warm up late this weekend. Another cold front early next week will bring us another shot of cooler weather before temperatures moderate some. Hopefully you'll be able to get some of your yummy veggies out in time!
